Portfolio Piece: Mind Time

Time is a construct of the mind. It becomes necessary in order to help make things tangible, and allow us to give the universe order. However, everybody’s time is different. Just as people literarily view things from different perspectives, time is completely relative. Einstein’s theory of special relativity is simply an explanation which has been adopted by many people as valid. I like to believe the mind is capable of interpreting things in different fashions and the only reason our minds limit themselves is to make life orderly. Without a sense of time, ideas would wander, the past wouldn’t be any different from the future, and both would be occurring simultaneously. The laws of space time that Einstein developed might provide a good explanation of what the "laws" of time and space are, but it only does if you choose to adopt the world for what science defines it as. I say that time is completely relative to the viewer. Now this isn’t much of a claim as it is fairly obvious, but I would like to extend this concept of relativity to allowing each and every person to choose how and what governs these physical "laws". With this said; time simply is a figment of the mind and is a popular idea as it allows for tangible explanations in a cause and effect based setting, such as the world we live in.
